DiveScanner is a liveaboard comparison website at https://divescanner.net/. The website helps divers compare liveaboard trips by destination, month, dive level, wildlife interest and operator.

Data we collect
Search information
When you use the comparison machine, you may choose a destination, month, certification level, logged dives, wildlife interests, budget, trip length and solo travel preference. We use those choices to show matching liveaboard options and Cruise Director advice.
Newsletter information
If you subscribe to the newsletter, we collect the name and email address you submit through the form.
Technical information
Our hosting and backend services may process technical information needed to deliver the website, protect it from abuse and keep it working. This can include IP address, browser type, device information, pages requested, date and time of request and error logs.
Messages you send us
If you contact us by email, we receive the information included in your message and your email address.
How we use data

External booking links
DiveScanner links to external liveaboard operators and travel partners. Examples may include LiveAboard.com, PADI Travel, Aggressor Adventures, Emperor Divers, Blue Force Fleet, Khao Lak Scuba Adventures, The Junk, Bluewater Dive Travel and other providers shown in search results.
When you click an external booking link, you leave DiveScanner. The external website will process your data under its own privacy policy, booking terms and cookie rules.
Service providers
We use third-party services to run the website:
- Netlify - website hosting and form handling.
- Railway - backend hosting and API processing.
- Google Search Console - aggregate search performance and indexing information.
- Email providers - to receive and reply to emails you send us.
These services process data only as needed to provide their services to DiveScanner.
How long we keep data
- Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe or ask for removal.
- Contact emails may be kept while the conversation is active and for a reasonable period after that.
- Technical logs are kept according to the retention settings of our hosting and infrastructure providers.
- Search choices are used to return results and may appear in technical logs, but DiveScanner does not require a user account to search.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct inaccurate information.
- Ask us to delete your data.
- Withdraw consent for newsletter emails.
- Object to certain processing.
- Ask for a copy of your data in a portable format.

DiveScanner is intended for divers and travel planners. It is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
